Privacy

Last updated September 2, 2026.

Short version: no cookies for tracking, no names, no email addresses stored. We keep the minimum needed to count one vote per verified account per day.

Who is responsible

Stefan Bartos, 4723 Natternbach, Austria. Email: contact@currentstateofcallofduty.com.

Hosting

The site runs on Vercel Inc. (USA). Vercel processes technical request data such as IP address, browser type, and time of access in server logs for security and operation. Transfers to the USA are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Signing in with Battle.net

To vote you sign in with your Battle.net account (Blizzard Entertainment). We receive your Battle.net account ID and, as part of the standard sign-in scope, your BattleTag and email address. We store only the account ID together with your vote. BattleTag and email are not saved.

The sign-in sets one session cookie. It is technically necessary, contains no tracking, and is removed when you sign out or when it expires.

Votes

Each vote is stored as: provider and account ID, the chosen level, and the day (UTC). This is what enforces one vote per account per day. The data lives in a Postgres database hosted by Neon Inc. (USA, region us-east-1).

Public pages and the API only ever show aggregates. Individual votes are never published.

Visitor statistics

We use Umami Cloud (Umami Software Inc.) to count visitors. Umami works without cookies and without storing personal data: your IP address is hashed with a salt that changes daily and is never stored in plain form. Counted are page views, referrer, browser type, device class, country, and screen size.

Rate limiting

To block abuse, the voting endpoint keeps your IP address in server memory for at most one minute.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, ask us to restrict processing, and object to it. To delete every vote linked to your Battle.net account, email us from any address and name your BattleTag; we will confirm the account and remove the entries. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde, dsb.gv.at).
